A Place at the Table

50 Million Americans—1 in 4 children—don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all.

Take Root Cafe, planning to be open in 2016 in Kirksville MO, will be a nonprofit pay-what-you-can cafe dedicated to nourishing and empowering our community through the medium of sustainable and local food. We are pleased to announce our partnership with the Kirksville Film Circle and EcoClub of Truman State for our first community event. Food is something that affects all our lives, and it's vital to our future that we address issues like hunger, health, and farming. So join us in this journey, as we launch our first fundraiser and envision a world where everyone, regardless of means, has access to nutritious and wholesome food.

Tickets will be available for purchase online via the Kirksville Film Circle website. $5 suggested donation online and $6 at the door. Buy them fast as we will probably sell out! Snacks, beer, wine, and water will be available, as doors open at 6:30.
